Overview

Healthy Choices ("we", "us", "our") is built by AI Me Technologies. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app and website.

Information We Collect

Health Data: When you use the Healthy Choices app, you may provide health information including vitals, lab results, medications, conditions, nutrition logs, and Apple Watch data. This data is stored securely and used exclusively to provide personalized health insights.

Account Information: Email address, name, and profile information used to create and manage your account.

Usage Data: Anonymous analytics about how you use the app and website to help us improve the experience.

Newsletter: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address to send health insights and updates.

How We Use Your Data

Data Security

Your health data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices and work with trusted infrastructure providers. We never sell your health data to third parties.

Apple Health Integration

Healthy Choices reads health data from Apple HealthKit (via Apple Watch) with your explicit permission. This data is used only to provide personalized health insights within the app. We do not share HealthKit data with advertisers or data brokers.

Microphone & Voice Logging

Healthy Choices uses the microphone only when you explicitly tap the voice button to dictate a health entry — for example, saying “I had grilled chicken and broccoli for dinner” to log a meal, or “I slept 7 hours last night” to log sleep. The microphone is never activated in the background and is never used to listen passively.

Audio is transmitted securely to OpenAI's Whisper transcription service through our backend, and only the resulting text is saved to your account. The audio recording itself is discarded after transcription and is never used for model training, advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.

You can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Healthy Choices. Voice logging will be disabled, but the rest of the app continues to work normally.

Camera & Photo Library

Healthy Choices uses the camera and photo library only when you explicitly choose to add a photo — for example, snapping a picture of your dinner plate for AI nutrition analysis, or selecting an existing photo of a food label or lab report. Photos you submit for AI analysis are sent to OpenAI for processing as described in the Third-Party AI Service (OpenAI)section below. Photos are not used for advertising, profiling, or model training.

Notifications

Healthy Choices schedules notifications entirely on your device. There is no server-side push notification system, no Apple Push Notification (APNs) token is stored on our backend, and no notification content is generated by an external service. The notification scheduling rules — when to fire a Morning Wellness Brief, a logging reminder, a biological-age improvement celebration, an AI agent insight, or a win-back nudge — run locally in the app using data already on your device or in your existing Healthy Choices account (daily score snapshots, biological-age deltas, your meal log).

Your per-category on/off preferences, your custom Morning Brief time, and your quiet-hours window are stored on our backend so they sync across your devices. They are protected by row-level security and are never shared with advertisers or third parties.

You can disable notifications at any time from More → Notification Settings inside the app, or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Healthy Choices.

Third-Party AI Service (OpenAI)

Healthy Choices uses OpenAI to power AI features such as meal analysis, nutrition chat, voice transcription, and personalized wellness insights. When you use these AI-powered features, the following data may be sent to OpenAI for processing:

• Meal descriptions and nutrition queries you type or speak
• Photos of meals you take for AI nutrition analysis
• Voice recordings you make for meal logging (transcribed via OpenAI Whisper)
• Health profile data (vitals, lab results, conditions) to personalize AI wellness insights

This data is sent securely via encrypted connections through our backend servers. OpenAI processes the data in real-time to generate responses and does not use your data to train its AI models (we use their API with data opt-out).

You are informed about this data sharing and must explicitly consent before using the app. You can review OpenAI's privacy practices at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

We do not share HealthKit data with OpenAI. HealthKit data is processed locally and is never sent to third-party AI services.

Your Rights

You can request to view, export, or delete your data at any time. To do so, contact us at gary@healthychoices.app. We will respond within 30 days.

Advertising & Affiliate Links

Healthy Choices may display non-intrusive advertisements through Google AdMob within the app. Our Health Shop contains affiliate links (including Amazon Associates). We earn commissions from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our health recommendations.

Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies for functionality and anonymous analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand traffic patterns. Third-party advertising partners may use cookies to serve relevant ads within the app.
